IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 79 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art diorama of the two brothers from a classic adventure anime, back to back in the middle of a fight. On the left, the younger brother's towering suit of armor stands wide with one gloved fist drawn back and the other hand held flat and forward. The armor is scratched and dented, with spiked pauldrons and knee guards, a helmet with glowing eye slits and a long plume curling out behind, a weathered cloth hanging from the waist, webbing straps across the chest, a small leather bag at the hip and a small cross-and-serpent emblem on one shoulder. On the right, the braided older brother lunges low with his left arm thrown up behind him and a long blade jutting from his mechanical right forearm. He wears a long hooded red coat with the emblem stitched on the back over a black jacket and trousers, with a pocket watch swinging on its chain at his hip. All four of his heads are in the box, so you can swap expressions as you like: gritted teeth, an open-mouth shout, a wide grin or a closed-mouth scowl. His torn-shirt look is in the box too: a battle-damaged version with the coat off and his black top ripped open, raising his bare left arm, with its own mechanical right arm and blade. Swap the upper body to build either look. The round base has a dark metal rim with a framed eye panel at the front and a round crest medallion at the back. On top, splintered planks burst up out of packed dirt and rubble, black tendrils curl out of the ground, and blue lightning crackles up around a glowing circle drawn across the floor.

What's in the kit

  • 79 resin pieces in total.
  • Armored figure, 22 pieces: the helmet, the plume, the torso in two sections, the waist in two sections, two spiked pauldrons, both arms in two sections each, two gloved hands, the waist cloth in three panels, the hip bag, two legs and two boots.
  • Braided fighter, 27 pieces: four heads (gritted teeth, open-mouth shout, grin and closed-mouth scowl), the hair in two pieces, the torso, the coat in two halves, the left arm and gloved hand, the mechanical right arm in five pieces (two arm sections, forearm unit, hand and wrist cuff), the arm blade, the pocket watch on its chain, the legs and two boots, plus the torn-shirt upper body in 6 pieces (the torso with the bare raised left arm, a shoulder plate, the torn top in two pieces, and a second mechanical right arm with the blade in two sections).
  • Base and scene, 30 pieces: the metal rim in four quarters, the ground in five sections, the glowing circle in four quarters, six plank and rubble clusters, eight lightning and tendril effects, the eye panel and its eye, and the crest medallion.
  • Studio size: 1:6 scale, 447 mm (17.60 in) tall, 424 mm (16.69 in) wide and 331 mm (13.03 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
  • Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The armored figure is heavy and stands wide on two big boots. Pin the boots, legs and torso sections together and into the base.
  • Build the base first: the rim quarters, then the ground sections, then the four quarters of the glowing circle, which have to meet as one ring. Dry-fit both figures on it before gluing.
  • The plume, the coat halves, the pocket watch chain, the arm blade and the eight lightning and tendril pieces are long or thin. Pin the plume and the coat and fit the effects last.
  • A blue glaze over the lightning pieces gives them a glow. The mechanical arm is five small pieces; dry-fit it before gluing. Pin the head without glue if you want to swap the four expressions.
  • The torn-shirt upper body swaps in as a set for the coat, the torso, the left arm and the mechanical right arm. Dry-fit both looks before you decide which one to glue.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
