Anime Bowl-Cut Martial Artist Resin Garage Kit – Fighting Stance, Swirling Sand Tendrils & Cracked Tile Arena Base (Unpainted, 22 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 22 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art statue of the hard-working, weapon-free martial artist from a classic ninja anime, squared up for a fight. He stands in a wide, low stance on a cracked green tile floor, his bandaged right hand raised open in front of him and his left fist pulled back behind his body, his head turned to the viewer with a calm half-smile. He has a glossy black bowl haircut with blunt bangs, thick black eyebrows and big round eyes. He wears a green jumpsuit with a turtleneck collar and a fine knit texture, bandage wraps on both forearms, a crimson sash with a metal plate engraved with a spiral leaf emblem, white-and-navy wraps and a small pouch on one thigh, ribbed orange leg warmers and blue open-toed sandals. Pale, pitted sand tendrils twist up out of the floor around him, the tallest reaching his shoulder, and a curved band of lettered training weights stands on end behind his leg. The base is a squarish plinth of gray rock with broken green tiles on top.
What's in the kit
- 22 resin pieces in total.
- Figure, 9 pieces: the head, the hair, the torso with both arms, the hips and legs, two lower legs with the leg warmers and sandals, two hands and the thigh pouch.
- Base, 13 pieces: the cracked tile floor and rock plinth in four quarters, eight sand tendril sections and the band of training weights.
- Studio size: 250 mm (9.84 in) tall, 236 mm (9.29 in) wide and 190 mm (7.48 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' notes for this kit).
- Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: advanced
- Build the base first: the four plinth quarters, then the eight sand sections. Dry-fit all of the sand against the photos before gluing; the renders show no cut lines.
- He stands wide on both sandals. Pin both feet into the tiles and pin the lower legs to the hips.
- The open fingers, the flicked hair strands, the thin sand tips and the curved weights band are the delicate parts.
- The face and hair are separate, so the black hair can be painted apart and glued on after.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
