IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as separate pieces (how many depends on the version you choose; see below) of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

Small seated baby chibis to paint yourself, fan art of characters from anime and American comics. Every figure shares one pose: sitting flat on the floor with the legs stretched out in a V so the boot soles face you, the arms hanging down and the hands flat on the floor beside the hips. The head is the point of the sculpt, more than half the figure's height and wider than the shoulders. There's no base; each figure rests on its seat, heels and hands. Choose the figure. The iron mask in a green hood has a riveted metal mask with a scowling brow, round eyes looking out through the eye holes and a slotted mouth grille, a deep green hood with a folded peak at the back, a sleeveless green tunic with round clasps and a rope at the collar, a belt with a rectangular buckle, and metal armor on the arms, gauntlets and boots. The snake-eyed sorcerer has long straight black hair with one lock hanging between slit-pupil eyes, painted strokes down the cheeks and a small closed smile, a pale robe with a wide dark collar tied with a thick twisted rope, forearm guards and wrapped legs in sandals. The blonde officer has a loop of hair standing up from the crown, a lock sweeping across the face, big eyes and a gritted-teeth grin, a dark green military jacket with piped edges, buttons, a small winged badge and a gem at the collar, a belted waist, trousers and boots.

What's in the kit

  • Resin pieces in total, by figure: 6 for the iron mask in a green hood, 6 for the snake-eyed sorcerer, 8 for the blonde officer.
  • Iron mask in a green hood, 6 pieces: the head (mask and hood as a single piece), the torso, two armored arms and two armored legs with boots.
  • Snake-eyed sorcerer, 6 pieces: the head with its hair, the robed torso, two arms and two legs with sandals.
  • Blonde officer, 8 pieces: the head in three pieces (main head, front hair and the hair loop), the jacket torso, two arms and two legs with boots.
  • Iron mask in a green hood: tallest single piece, the head, 69.5 mm (2.74 in) in the sculptor's file.
  • Snake-eyed sorcerer: tallest single piece, the head with its hair, 86.6 mm (3.41 in) in the sculptor's file.
  • Blonde officer: tallest single piece, the main head piece, 110.4 mm (4.35 in) in the sculptor's file.
  • There's no base: each figure sits on its own seat, heels and hands. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, and there's no single-piece file of the finished figure, so I don't list one.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The head is most of each figure's weight and heavier than the torso it sits on. Pin the neck. I print the head hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • Each figure rests on four points (both heels and both hands). Dry-fit the arms and legs and check it sits level before the glue cures.
  • The blonde officer's hair loop is a thin separate ring with a small contact point on the crown; pin it with a short wire.
  • The faces are small anime faces with painted eyes: slit pupils on the sorcerer, eyes set behind the mask on the iron mask, big highlighted eyes on the officer.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
