IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 13 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the teenage hero who turns into a chainsaw-headed fighter in a gory action anime, lunging up out of a torn-up road with a fireball rolling out behind him. His head is an orange chainsaw casing with curved vent slots, an engine block and a tubular handle at the back, and a long bar and chain jutting out of the top; there is no face, only open jaws with rows of cream fangs and a hanging tongue. A saw blade with toothed edges runs out of each forearm. He wears a pale collared shirt with the sleeves pushed up and a loose black tie, a belt, dark denim jeans and white high-top sneakers with red trim. The sculpt and the painted renders are splashed with blood on the blades, shirt and arms. The base is a stretch of broken asphalt slabs with lane paint and rebar, a fallen stop sign on a bent post at the front, a white flower and a red one, scattered petals, and a large fireball spreading out to both sides behind the rubble.

What's in the kit

  • 13 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 8 pieces: the chainsaw head, the bar and chain that juts from it, the tongue, the shirt and tie, the jeans, one sneaker, and two forearms with their blades.
  • Base, 5 pieces: the main road rubble, the fireball, two raised rubble slabs and the fallen stop sign on its post.
  • Tallest single piece: the fireball, 102.9 mm (4.05 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Fireball: 162.9 × 103.8 mm (6.41 × 4.09 in) across in the sculptor's file; main road rubble: 123.9 × 94.8 mm (4.88 × 3.73 in). The head bar and the arm blades reach past the base.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The fireball and the main rubble are large solid pieces; the fireball sets the width of the whole scene.
  • The head bar and both arm blades are thin, with toothed edges and drippy blood splashes at the tips. Support and remove carefully.
  • The tie ends, the tongue, the flowers and the stop sign are small, thin parts.
  • The figure balances on the rubble with the heavy head forward. Pin the legs into the base and the head onto the body; no pegs show in the renders.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
