IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design, plus the studio's photos of its own unpainted test prints. Your kit arrives as 6 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the four-legged carrier giant from a dark fantasy war anime, rigged for battle. It crawls on all fours with its arms locked straight and its back legs bent, head held low so the long armored helmet points forward like a snout past the edge of the base. The faceted helmet has a ridge down the middle, two narrow eye slits glowing amber, angled vents on the cheeks and an opening at the tip that shows a row of white teeth, and shaggy dark hair spills out behind it. The body has smooth tan skin with big chubby muscles and a brown leather harness strapped around the chest and over the back. Bolted to the harness is a turret of four riveted gunmetal drums in a diamond, each with a stubby barrel pointing out, under a curved frame arch. The base is a flat slab of gray rock with a chipped edge, topped with dirt, grass tufts and pebbles.

What's in the kit

  • 6 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 3 pieces: the armored head with the hair, the upper body with both arms and the harness, and the hindquarters with both back legs.
  • Gun turret, 1 piece: the four drums, barrels and frame.
  • Base, 2 pieces: the rock base in two halves.
  • Studio size: 151 mm (5.94 in) tall, 182 mm (7.17 in) wide and 208 mm (8.19 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' notes for this kit).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The upper body and hindquarters join with a square peg and socket. Glue that join first, then fit the head.
  • The turret is the largest piece and sits high on the back plate. Pin it into the harness mount.
  • The base comes in two halves with a seam across the ground. Glue and fill it before the figure goes on, and pin all four feet.
  • The barrels, the turret frame arch and the vents on the helmet are thin. The turret and the base halves need a large-format plate.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
