Chibi Anime Elf Mage Resin Garage Kit – Gem Staff, Suitcase, Flower Bed Base & Treasure-Chest Mimic (Unpainted, 11 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 11 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art chibi of the elf mage from a popular fantasy anime, with a second small piece that plays on the show's running joke about treasure-chest mimics. The standing figure waits on a round stone flower bed full of blue flowers, holding her staff low in one hand and a small suitcase in the other. She has silver twin tails, long pointed ears with red drop earrings, large green eyes and a flat, slightly weary expression. She wears a white capelet and tunic trimmed in gold over a striped shirt, a dark belt with a square buckle, dark leggings and banded brown boots. The staff has a crimson shaft and a gold crescent head holding a large red gem, with a red cloth wrapped where the crescent meets the shaft. The second piece is a red treasure chest with brass bands, its lid propped open on rows of ivory fangs, with the same mage swallowed head-first: only her tunic, her folded legs and boots and the ends of her twin tails stick out of its mouth.
What's in the kit
- 11 resin pieces in total.
- Standing figure, 4 pieces: the head with the hair and twin tails, the body, the hand with the staff and the hand with the suitcase.
- Base, 1 piece: the round stone flower bed.
- Treasure-chest mimic, 6 pieces: the chest, the open lid with its fangs, the mage's tunic, her folded legs and boots, and two twin-tail ends.
- Studio size, standing figure: 112 mm (4.41 in) tall, 87 mm (3.43 in) wide and 73 mm (2.87 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' notes file for this kit).
- Treasure chest: 45.7 × 33.3 mm (1.80 × 1.31 in) footprint in the sculptor's file. The studio doesn't publish the mimic's height, so I don't list one.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- The head is most of the standing figure's weight. Pin it to the body.
- The staff is long and thin and hangs out past the base, held only by the hand. Clip its supports slowly and fit it after the head.
- The mimic's two twin-tail ends are tiny. Use tweezers.
- The fangs are two rows of small sharp cones; the earrings and the gem can be finished with gloss varnish.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
