IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 23 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the sword-swinging hero from a fantasy anime about a kingdom of mages, standing square on a broken slab of ochre rock. He holds a huge sword low and out to his right, its broad flat blade black-edged around a violet panel with dark vein patterns, while his left hand hangs at his side in a fist. He wears a black headband with a gold horned-skull crest at the front, a short black capelet with a high collar and thick gold trim, a matching gold crest on the chest, a white short-sleeved tunic, a brown belt with a gold buckle and a laced pouch, navy knee-length shorts and short black boots. Three translucent red flame swirls curl up around his legs, a burning book stands at his feet and cream dust clouds puff out behind his boots. Both looks are in the box, so you can build either one and swap the heads as you like: the grinning head, with spiky pale gray hair, big green eyes and a wide toothy grin; and the horned head, with hair split black and gray down the middle, a curled black horn on one side, one red eye, dark markings on one cheek and a scowl, which goes with a torn black wing rising behind his shoulder. Each look has its own tunic and capelet, and both pairs are included.

What's in the kit

  • 23 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure and base, 12 pieces: the torso, the legs in shorts and boots, two hands, the sword, the rock base, three flame swirls, the burning book and two dust clouds.
  • Grinning look, 5 pieces: the head in three pieces (face, headband and spiky pale hair), plus the tunic and capelet without the wing mount.
  • Horned look, 6 pieces: the head in three pieces with the two-tone hair and horns, the tunic and capelet made to hold the wing, and the torn black wing.
  • The black right arm in the horned renders is paint. The thin black thorn tendrils shown on the sword and at the elbow are not among the kit's parts, so plan to paint or add them yourself.
  • Tallest single piece: the wing, 76.8 mm (3.02 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Rock base: 85.4 × 58.8 mm (3.36 × 2.31 in) across in the sculptor's file. The sword and flames reach past its edges.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The three flame swirls are thin curling ribbons with fine tips, and the smallest one between his feet is very slender. Support and remove carefully.
  • The sword is held out from one small hand with the blade past the edge of the base. Pin the hand and the sword.
  • The horned look's wing is a thin torn membrane with thorny branches, hung from the back of the capelet on a small contact area. Pin it.
  • The capelet is a thin cupped shell, and the hair spikes, tall hair strand, horns and sword-guard spike are small points. Use the tunic and capelet that match the head you build. Dry-fit the flames, clouds and book around the boots before gluing; no pegs show in the renders.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
