IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 24 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the blade-armed gold-armored warrior from a classic anime about armored warriors, in a deep lunge across a ruined floor. His back leg is planted by a broken column and his front knee is bent, his right fist is pulled back to his hip, and his left arm is thrust straight out to the side with the hand flat like a blade, ringed by a jagged gold energy outline. At his feet a fan of curved yellow-to-orange energy blades bursts up from a crack in the floor, the tallest sweeping up past his front shin. He wears full gold armor: rounded shoulder guards with raised spirals and short spikes, a breastplate with two big spirals and a round boss, ivory scroll accents on the collar and front plates, forearm guards, fingerless gauntlets, thigh and knee guards and pointed greaves, with a deep purple undersuit showing at the hips. His face is stern, with narrowed teal-green eyes and heavy brows. Both heads are in the box, so you can swap them as you like: an open helmet with a crown-like front and two ribbed horns curling inward, with spiky black hair sweeping back behind it, or a closed helmet that comes to a point over the nose, with longer smooth horns sweeping out and up. The base is a slab of dark cracked flagstones with a tall fluted column, a short broken column and a fallen column drum behind him.

What's in the kit

  • 24 resin pieces in total. Both helmeted heads are in the box.
  • Figure, 8 pieces: the torso, the legs as a single lunging piece, two arms and four shoulder-armor pieces.
  • Effect, 1 piece: the jagged energy ring around the open hand.
  • Open-helmet head, 2 pieces: the head and the open helmet with the ribbed horns, with the spiky black hair.
  • Closed-helmet head, 4 pieces: the head in the closed helmet, a small helmet panel and two long horns.
  • Base, 9 pieces: the stone floor in two halves, the tall column, the broken column, the fallen column drum and four clusters of energy blades.
  • Tallest single piece: the main cluster of energy blades, 94.0 mm (3.70 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Stone floor: two halves, 157.6 × 104.1 mm (6.20 × 4.10 in) and 157.2 × 65.8 mm (6.19 × 2.59 in) across in the sculptor's files.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The stone floor comes in two large halves that have to line up across the flagstones before the columns go on. Fill the seam along the cracks.
  • The figure stands on two feet in a wide lunge. Pin both feet into the floor, and fit the energy blades after the figure is glued.
  • The energy ring around the open hand and the blade clusters are very thin and spiky, with small contact points.
  • The closed helmet's two horns are long and thin; pin them into the helmet. The closed head is also a heavy piece. I print it hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • Both heads are in the kit. Leave the neck joint unglued (a pin holds it) if you want to swap them later.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
