Chibi Relief Picture Frame Plaque Resin Garage Kit – Choose a Design, with Display Stand: Caped Vigilante, Scarred Warrior, Masked Turtle, Armored Warrior or Pale Swordsman (Unpainted, 3 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 3 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
Sculpted relief plaques to paint yourself, fan art of characters from American comics, anime and a video game: each is a chibi figure standing out in high relief inside a portrait frame, with its own small display stand. It's a sculpted picture, not a frame for photos. Every design shares the same frame: a stepped, layered border with notched corners, a header plate with the studio's name, a name plate across the bottom with raised lettering, and a back panel covered in slanting raised dashes like rain. Choose the design. The caped vigilante stands wide-legged in a pointed-eared cowl with a scowl, a chest emblem, a belt of boxy pouches, a thigh pouch, flared gauntlets and heavy boots, one fist clenched and his cape hanging behind. The bald scarred warrior lunges low with a spiral-carved round pauldron, a chest strap, chain-banded forearm wraps, a skirt of studded armor tabs and strapped sandals, a broad-bladed axe held low, a stitched scar over one eye and a short goatee. The masked turtle crouches with one fist out and a sai held point-down across his body, his mask tails flying up behind his head, with a segmented shell front, a knotted belt, elbow and knee pads and wrapped forearms. The armored warrior wears a crested helmet, flared shoulder guards and segmented leg plates, hands clasped in front of his chest, with his cape and long hair blowing out to one side. The pale swordsman stands straight with one arm held out flat, in a long open coat with a high collar and flaring tails, a sash over a long pleated hakama, a sheathed sword at his hip and a horned half-helmet over his bangs.
What's in the kit
- 3 resin pieces in total, per design.
- Each design is 3 resin pieces: the framed relief (figure, scenery, border and plates as a single piece) and the display stand, which comes as two halves that slot together.
- Choose one design per variant: caped vigilante with utility belt, bald scarred warrior with axe, masked turtle with sai, armored warrior with clasped hands and cape or pale swordsman in long coat.
- Caped vigilante with utility belt frame: 61.6 × 100.4 × 13.6 mm (2.43 × 3.95 × 0.54 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
- Bald scarred warrior with axe frame: 61.5 × 100.4 × 14.5 mm (2.42 × 3.95 × 0.57 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
- Masked turtle with sai frame: 61.5 × 100.4 × 14.4 mm (2.42 × 3.95 × 0.57 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
- Armored warrior with clasped hands and cape frame: 61.5 × 100.4 × 14.6 mm (2.42 × 3.95 × 0.57 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
- Pale swordsman in long coat frame: 61.5 × 100.4 × 13.6 mm (2.42 × 3.95 × 0.54 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish sizes or a scale.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- The two stand halves slot together and the frame sits in the stand's hooks. A dot of glue at the joint and in each hook fixes it for good.
- The relief has fine raised detail (the rain-dash panel, the stepped border, the plate lettering, belt pouches, chain wraps and armor tabs) that a dark wash and a drybrush bring out.
- The figures stand off the back panel in places, so reaching behind them with a brush takes some care. Everything faces one way, so there is no reaching around a figure.
- Each frame is a single solid piece with a flat back, so the supports and their marks belong on the back.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
