IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 3 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

Sculpted relief plaques to paint yourself, fan art of characters from anime, American comics and a video game: each is a chibi figure standing out in high relief inside a portrait frame, with its own small display stand. It's a sculpted picture, not a frame for photos. Every design shares the same frame: a stepped, layered border with notched corners, a header plate with the studio's name, a name plate across the bottom with raised lettering, and a back panel covered in slanting raised dashes like rain. Choose the design. The clawed brawler crouches in a wide stance, snarling, three claws out of each fist, in a cowl with two tall swept-back fins, a fitted suit with big angled shoulder pads, a belt with an X buckle and heavy boots. The horned-helmet armored warrior stands square with both fists raised, in full armor with a long curved horn on one side of the helmet, layered shoulder guards, scrolled chest plate, studded knee guards and a cape spreading behind him. The spiky-haired swordsman is in a low fighting crouch, one hand on the grip of the huge sword on his back, in a ribbed sleeveless top, a studded shoulder guard, baggy pants and strapped boots. The chainsaw-headed fighter is mid-leap with a chainsaw for a head and toothed bars coming out of both arms, splatter sculpted on the bars, in a wrinkled shirt with a streaming necktie, creased pants and sneakers. The long-haired figure stands still with very long hair falling over the eyes and down to the knees, a bandage over the lower face, the torso wrapped in crossing strips of cloth and a long hakama with a torn hem, with flame-like wisps climbing one side of the panel. The short-haired swordswoman in round glasses stands at ease with a sword held low in one hand, in a sleeveless high-necked top, belted pants and boots.

What's in the kit

  • 3 resin pieces in total, per design.
  • Each design is 3 resin pieces: the framed relief (figure, scenery, border and plates as a single piece) and the display stand, which comes as two halves that slot together.
  • Choose one design per variant: clawed brawler in finned cowl, horned-helmet armored warrior with cape, spiky-haired swordsman with giant blade, chainsaw-headed fighter mid-leap, long-haired figure with flame wisps or short-haired swordswoman in round glasses.
  • Clawed brawler in finned cowl frame: 61.2 × 100.0 × 13.9 mm (2.41 × 3.94 × 0.55 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
  • Horned-helmet armored warrior with cape frame: 61.2 × 100.0 × 13.6 mm (2.41 × 3.94 × 0.54 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
  • Spiky-haired swordsman with giant blade frame: 61.2 × 100.0 × 13.8 mm (2.41 × 3.94 × 0.54 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
  • Chainsaw-headed fighter mid-leap frame: 61.2 × 100.0 × 15.1 mm (2.41 × 3.94 × 0.59 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
  • Long-haired figure with flame wisps frame: 61.2 × 100.0 × 13.6 mm (2.41 × 3.94 × 0.54 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
  • Short-haired swordswoman in round glasses frame: 61.2 × 100.0 × 14.2 mm (2.41 × 3.94 × 0.56 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish sizes or a scale.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The two stand halves slot together and the frame sits in the stand's hooks. A dot of glue at the joint and in each hook fixes it for good.
  • The relief has fine raised detail (the rain-dash panel, the stepped border, the plate lettering, claws, chain teeth and armor edges) that a dark wash and a drybrush bring out.
  • The figures stand off the back panel in places, so reaching behind them with a brush takes some care. Everything faces one way, so there is no reaching around a figure.
  • Each frame is a single solid piece with a flat back, so the supports and their marks belong on the back.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
