Chibi Relief Picture Frame Plaque Resin Garage Kit – Choose a Design, with Display Stand: Lightning Ninja, Prayer-Bead Brawler, Turtle Warrior, Caped Helmeted Villain or Grinning Swordsman (Unpainted, 3 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 3 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
Sculpted relief plaques to paint yourself, fan art of characters from anime, a fighting video game and American comics: each is a chibi figure standing out in high relief inside a portrait frame, with its own small display stand. It's a sculpted picture, not a frame for photos. Every design shares the same frame: a stepped, layered border with notched corners, a header plate with the studio's name, a name plate across the bottom with raised lettering, and a back panel covered in slanting raised dashes like rain. Choose the design. The prayer-bead brawler stands square with both fists clenched, tall spiky hair over a heavy scowl, a necklace of big round beads, a sleeveless gi with a knotted rope belt and bare feet, on a broken rock ledge over curling cloud scrolls with a large demon face below. The lightning ninja crouches in a wide stance driving a spiked ball of lightning down in one hand, with swept-up spiky hair, a metal plate on a headband, a mask over the lower face and a flak vest, on cracked rubble with a throwing knife stuck in the ground on each side and a throwing star near the bottom. The turtle warrior lunges with a katana in each hand, a mask band with trailing tails across his eyes, gritted teeth, wrapped hands, a chest strap and a knee pad, one foot up on a broken stone block. The caped helmeted villain stands on top of a large dome with one hand raised and the fingers curled, in a crested helmet with cheek guards, a belted suit, gloves, tall boots and a long cape sweeping out to one side. The grinning swordsman crouches low with a wide toothy grin and bursting spiky hair, gripping a long wrapped hilt, with a huge broad curved blade behind him and a long open coat with torn edges, on a heap of skulls and rubble with flame-like wisps rising on both sides.
What's in the kit
- 3 resin pieces in total, per design.
- Each design is 3 resin pieces: the framed relief (figure, scenery, border and plates as a single piece) and the display stand, which comes as two halves that slot together.
- Choose one design per variant: prayer-bead brawler, lightning ninja, turtle warrior, caped helmeted villain or grinning swordsman.
- Frame: 100.0 × 60.9 mm (3.94 × 2.40 in) across the face in the sculptor's file, the same for all five designs. The sculptor doesn't publish sizes or a scale.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- The two stand halves slot together and the frame sits in the stand's hooks. A dot of glue at the joint and in each hook fixes it for good.
- The relief has fine raised detail (the rain-dash panel, the lightning bolts, throwing knives and throwing star, hair spikes, the bead necklace) that a wash and drybrush bring out.
- Some parts stand well off the back panel (the turtle warrior's lower katana, the swordsman's hair spikes), so reaching behind them with a brush takes some care.
- Each frame is a single solid piece, so sanding is limited to support marks on the back and edges.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
