Chibi Relief Picture Frame Plaque Resin Garage Kit – Choose a Design, with Display Stand: Mecha Robot, Web-Masked Hero, Scarf-Wearing Young Man, Pigtailed Fighter or Long-Haired Girl (Unpainted, 3 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 3 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
Sculpted relief plaques to paint yourself, fan art of characters from anime and an American comic: each is a chibi figure standing out in high relief inside a portrait frame, with its own small display stand. It's a sculpted picture, not a frame for photos. Every design shares the same frame: a stepped, layered border with notched top corners, a header plate with the studio's name, a name plate across the bottom with raised lettering, and a back panel covered in slanting raised dashes like rain. Choose the design. The web-masked hero crouches on top of a brick chimney, gripping its cap with both hands and knees out wide, with big angled eye lenses and web lines sculpted across the mask and suit. The scarf-wearing young man stands square in rubble with his head tipped down, eyes closed and a faint smile, straight shoulder-length hair, a scarf over a short-sleeved shirt, a wide belt, loose trousers and boots, his hands out of sight at his hips, beside a broken post. The mecha robot is a big-headed, blocky robot with a wide swept fin on its head, a rifle held out in one hand and a tall shield with a four-pointed star on the other arm, on a low faceted plinth. The pigtailed fighter takes a low, wide stance with one palm raised and the other fist drawn in, pigtails whipping up and a long coat flaring out, in a wrap-front top with a sash, loose trousers and sandals, on broken slabs with shards flying up. The long-haired girl stands with one hand on her hip and the other raised beside her face, her long wavy hair streaming out to one side, in a long-sleeved top with a bow at the collar, puffed shorts, stockings and tall buckled boots, on a rocky ledge beside a tall boulder.
What's in the kit
- 3 resin pieces in total, per design.
- Each design is 3 resin pieces: the framed relief (figure, scenery, border and plates as a single piece) and the display stand, which comes as two halves that slot together.
- Choose one design per variant: mecha robot, web-masked hero, scarf-wearing young man, pigtailed fighter or long-haired girl.
- Frame: 99.8 × 61.1 mm (3.93 × 2.41 in) across the face in the sculptor's file, the same for all five designs. The sculptor doesn't publish sizes or a scale.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- The two stand halves slot together and the frame sits in the stand's hooks. A dot of glue at the joint and in each hook fixes it for good.
- The relief has fine raised detail (the rain-dash panel, the web lines and brickwork, the robot's armor panels, the flying shards) that a wash and drybrush bring out.
- The reliefs are shallow (the frames are under 15 mm deep), so the detail is crisp but small; a fine brush helps on the faces and lettering.
- Each frame is a single solid piece, so sanding is limited to support marks on the back and edges.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
