Chibi Red-Haired Swordsman Resin Garage Kit – Red Gi, Sheathed Katana, Ponytail & Blossom Stone Base (Unpainted, 11 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 11 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art chibi of the wandering red-haired swordsman from a classic samurai anime, crouched low a beat before the draw. His feet are planted wide on a slab of stone, front knee bent hard and back leg stretched out, his body pitched forward and his head turned toward you. His left hand holds the scabbard at the guard by his hip, and his open right hand hovers by the cord-wrapped hilt. The sheathed sword angles up and back behind him. Long orange hair falls over his forehead in tapered spikes and sweeps back into a streaming ponytail tied with a navy band. He has violet eyes under lowered brows, a pressed, serious mouth and a cross-shaped scar on his left cheek. He wears a red gi with wide sleeves turned back to a white lining, wide off-white hakama with a stiff back panel, dark socks and rope-soled sandals. The base is layered gray stone with moss in the cracks and small pink blossoms and petals scattered across the top.
What's in the kit
- 11 resin pieces in total.
- Figure, 8 pieces: the head, the front hair, the ponytail, the gi torso with both sleeves, the hakama with the legs and sandaled feet, two forearms with hands, and a small waist band piece.
- Sword, 1 piece: the sheathed sword with hilt and guard.
- Base, 2 pieces: the blossom-scattered stone slab in two parts.
- Tallest single piece: the front hair, 53.3 mm (2.10 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
- Stone base: 89.1 × 109.4 mm (3.51 × 4.31 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- The sheathed sword is thin, curved and under 1 mL. It touches the figure only at the left hand and under the right forearm, so dry-fit the sword with both forearms before gluing either arm.
- The ponytail is a large piece hanging straight off the back of the head. Pin it.
- The head is the heaviest figure part and sits on the neck. Pin it.
- The base comes in two parts with a seam through the stone to fill; the layered rock texture helps hide it. The waist band piece is small and easy to lose.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
