Chibi Basketball Player Resin Garage Kit – Red Pompadour, Ball in Hand & Wooden Court-Floor Base, Grinning and Buzz-Cut Heads Included (Unpainted, 13 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 13 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art chibi of the red-haired high-school basketball player from a classic sports anime. He stands square to the front with both sneakers flat on the floor, his right hand raised to shoulder height with a basketball balanced on his spread fingers beside his face, and his left hand on his hip with the elbow out. He wears a sleeveless red team jersey with white trim, team lettering across the chest and a number front and back, red shorts with white stripes at the waistband and hem, and white high-top sneakers with red accents and black collars. He stands on a round disc of staggered wooden floorboards, like a section of court floor, set in a beveled slate-gray rim. Both heads are in the box, so you can swap them as you like: a toothy grin under a tall, swept-up red pompadour, or a scowling, pouting face under a short stippled buzz cut.
What's in the kit
- 13 resin pieces in total. Both heads are in the box.
- Figure, 8 pieces: the jersey torso, the shorts, two arms (one raised to hold the ball, one resting on the hip), two shins and two high-top sneakers.
- Accessory, 1 piece: the basketball.
- Base, 1 piece: the round wooden court floor with its rim.
- Grinning head, 2 pieces: the grinning face and the separate red pompadour.
- Buzz-cut head, 1 piece: the pouting head with its short stippled hair.
- Tallest single piece: the grinning head, 58.4 mm (2.30 in) in the sculptor's file; the buzz-cut head is 53.1 mm (2.09 in). The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
- Round court-floor base: 78.3 × 78.3 mm (3.08 × 3.08 in) across in the sculptor's file.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: advanced
- The head is nearly half the resin of the build and sits on two thin shins. Pin the shins into the sneakers, the sneakers into the base and the head into the torso.
- The ball meets the hand only at the spread fingertips. Pin it to the palm.
- The pompadour's hooked forelock and the flicked wisps at one temple are the thinnest parts; support them from underneath.
- The jersey lettering, the number and the stripes on the trim are fine detail to paint.
- Both heads are in the kit. Leave the neck joint unglued (a pin holds it) if you want to swap them later.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
