IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 28 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the spiky-haired teenage hero from a classic card-battle anime, in a wide stance with a card raised to his brow between two fingers and a card gauntlet on his other forearm. His hair is a tall star of spikes: a black core, magenta tips and a blonde fringe with long locks hanging past his jaw. His large violet eyes sit under a hard frown. He wears a black sleeveless top with a choker, a gold pyramid pendant with an engraved eye on a chain, a studded wrist cuff, two black studded belts with a small pouch, violet trousers and black boots. A deep violet coat with a white lining rests on his shoulders, its empty sleeves streaming out to both sides. The card gauntlet holds five small cards in its zones. Four ribbons of purple energy with clawed tips swirl around his legs, and he stands on a cracked sandstone slab with carved glyph tablets at the back.

What's in the kit

  • 28 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 12 pieces: the head, two hair pieces (the main spikes and the blonde fringe), the torso, two arms, two hands, the legs, two boots and the coat worn on the shoulders.
  • Accessories, 10 pieces: the card gauntlet, six small cards, the pyramid pendant on its chain, the studded wrist cuff and one small unnamed part (by size, most likely the hip pouch).
  • Effects, 4 pieces: four purple energy ribbons.
  • Base, 2 pieces: the sandstone slab with its glyph tablets, in two halves.
  • Tallest single piece: the blonde fringe, 66.8 mm (2.63 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Sandstone base: 110.8 × 85.5 mm (4.36 × 3.37 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The six cards are paper-thin and under 10 mm across, and the pendant chain has fine links. Handle them with tweezers.
  • The hair is a heavy part on top of a slim figure that stands on two small boots. Pin both boots to the base. I print the hair hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • The energy ribbons wrap in front of and behind the legs. Dry-fit them with the figure on the base before gluing anything; they look best painted with purple glazes.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
