IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 17 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the quiet, stern swordsman from a hit sword-fighting anime, caught mid-swing on one foot. His weight is on his left foot in the middle of a whirlpool, his right knee raised and that foot kicked back behind him, and his right arm is thrown straight out with the drawn sword in line with it while a sheet of water peels off the blade and curls over at the tip. His left hand stays low at his hip, gripping the scabbard. He has thick near-black hair in pointed locks with a spiky tail at the nape, large blue eyes and drawn-down brows. He wears a haori split down the middle, solid maroon on one half and a geometric pattern of green and ochre hexagons on the other, over a black uniform jacket with a stand collar and gold buttons, a white belt with a silver buckle, loose black trousers gathered at the calf, pale leg wraps, black socks and sandals, with a black panel flaring across his back. The base is a pool of water with ripples and a spiral eddy, rising into curling wave walls, and a thin ribbon of water sweeps up around his raised knee.

What's in the kit

  • 17 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 12 pieces: the head, the bangs, two hair pieces, the torso, two arms, the sword hand, the left hand with the scabbard, the legs, and two feet.
  • Cape, 1 piece: the black panel that flares across his back.
  • Sword, 1 piece: the drawn blade with its sheet of water.
  • Base, 3 pieces: the water base in two sections and the water ribbon for his knee.
  • Tallest single piece: the larger water base section, 104.5 mm (4.11 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • The sword with its water sheet is 89.2 mm (3.51 in) long in the sculptor's file.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The whole figure stands on the planted left foot. Pin the foot to the legs and into the base.
  • The sword arm is held straight out with the sword on a small hand, a long lever. Pin at the shoulder, and at the wrist if there's room.
  • The water base is two sections, and glossy water shows seams, so fill and polish that join before the figure goes on. Fit the thin knee ribbon last and glue it at both ends.
  • The hexagon pattern on half of the haori looks flat on the sculpt in the renders, so it is freehand or masking work.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
