IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 8 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the elegant young palace official from a popular palace-mystery anime, laughing behind his sleeve. He stands square with one arm held out at his side in a loose fist and the other hand raised to his mouth, eyes closed and mouth open in a smile, with small blush lines on his cheeks. His long violet hair falls past his shoulders, two pointed bangs curve out from his forehead, and the rest is gathered into a bun under a pale cap with a hair tie whose two tails hang down the back. He wears a dark inner robe under a blue outer robe with wide sleeves, raised gold brocade bands at the cuffs and down the front, a blue sash tied in a bow, and small black shoes. Beside him on a base of wooden planks stand a short stool holding a cloth pouch with a red heart, a stack of three rolled scrolls with gold end caps, and a tall lantern on its stand.

What's in the kit

  • 8 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 3 pieces: the head with the long hair and bun, the front bangs, and the body in the robe.
  • Base and props, 5 pieces: the plank base, the stool, the pouch, the stack of scrolls and the lantern on its stand.
  • Studio size: 68 mm (2.68 in) tall, 57 mm (2.24 in) wide and 52 mm (2.05 in) long (from the studio's scale sheet).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: beginner

  • Head to body is the main join. The head is the heaviest part, so test-fit it before gluing; a chibi head that leans a few degrees off shows.
  • The bangs glue onto the front of the hair along the sculpted hairline.
  • The stool, scrolls and lantern sit on flat spots on the base, and the pouch sits on the stool. Glue the stool before the pouch.
  • Small parts: the stool legs, the pouch and the lantern stand. Use tweezers.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
