IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 40 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the hulking, horned shadow knight who serves the hero of a hit Korean action-fantasy series and its anime. He stands square with his feet apart, a long-hafted great axe held low in his right hand with its broad crescent blade hanging out past the base, and a tall pointed shield almost his own height upright at his left side. His closed helmet has two big horns curling up and inward, smaller horns at the temples and a spike at the brow, and his stern face shows through the opening with glowing eyes. The right pauldron is sculpted as a beast's head with a ring through its snout and tall spikes behind it, the left pauldron sweeps back into curved spikes, and a mass of flames rises from his collar over both shoulders and piles up on his back. His armor is layered plate with spiked knee guards, pointed sabatons, spiked side plates at the waist and hanging front and back panels embossed with a sword emblem. The base is a round plinth with an emblem disc at the front, cracked rocks on top and flame tendrils rising around his boots. The studio's renders show him painted two ways, with glowing blue or magenta edges and flames.

What's in the kit

  • 40 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 20 pieces: head, a small helmet piece, two horns, torso, a chest piece, hips and thighs, two lower legs with sabatons, two pauldrons, two upper arms, six arm armor sections and the left hand.
  • Waist armor, 6 pieces: front and back belt plates, front and back hanging panels, and the two spiked side plates.
  • Weapons, 4 pieces: the right hand with the great axe in two pieces, and the shield in two pieces.
  • Base, 10 pieces: the round base in two halves, six flame tendrils, the front emblem and a plug.
  • Studio size: 481.8 mm (18.97 in) tall, 420.0 mm (16.54 in) wide and 322.4 mm (12.69 in) deep (from the studio's scale sheet).
  • Round base: 259.2 × 264.6 mm (10.20 × 10.42 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • This is a very large kit. The base, torso and legs are heavy; pin every load-bearing join, starting with the lower legs into the base. I print them hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • The great axe reaches far out past the base on a single hand. It comes in two pieces; pin the join and the wrist.
  • The tall shield comes in two pieces and stands at his left side on the left hand. Pin it to the hand and check that it clears the base flames before gluing.
  • The flame collar, the horns, the small helmet piece, the flame tendrils and the thin arm armor sections are delicate.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
