IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 28 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the lanky, shaggy-haired bounty hunter from a classic space-western anime series. He is caught mid-leap between two broken concrete pillars, his right arm thrown out to the side with the pistol firing and the muzzle flash modeled in, his left arm swept back with the hand open, one shoe planted on the rubble and the other leg kicked up behind him. A lit cigarette hangs from the corner of his half-smile. He wears a blue suit with the jacket flaring open, a yellow shirt with its big pointed collar folded out over the lapels, a loose dark tie and two bar clasps in place of buttons. The base is a full diorama: a round riveted drum with orange-red cables looped around its band, a pile of gray rubble, two cracked pillars leaning outward in a V with bent rebar bursting from their tops and a red and blue cable draped down one of them, two rusted girders, four rusted pipes, four wisps of pale smoke, and a weathered metal sign with raised red lettering propped at the front.

What's in the kit

  • 28 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 10 pieces: head, torso, legs, two arms, the open left hand, the right hand with the pistol and muzzle flash, two shoes and the cigarette.
  • Base, 18 pieces: the round drum base, the sign plate, the two broken pillars in two halves each, the rubble pile in two halves, two girders, four pipes and four smoke wisps.
  • Studio size: 349.71 mm (13.77 in) tall, 251.40 mm (9.90 in) wide and 236.05 mm (9.29 in) deep, assembled (from the studio's scale sheet).
  • Drum base: 180.7 mm (7.11 in) across in the sculptor's file. The rubble pile on top overhangs it a little.
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • He balances on one foot, and the planted shoe is a separate part. Pin through the ankle into the legs and through the sole into the rubble.
  • Each pillar comes in two halves, and the pillars lean outward. Pin both joins and let them cure before the figure goes on.
  • Build the base in order: drum, the two rubble halves, the pillars, then the figure, then the smoke wisps and the sign plate last.
  • Thin parts: the smoke wisps, the rebar at the pillar tops, the spread fingers of the open hand, two of the pipes and the tiny cigarette.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
