IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 11 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art bust of the pale, snake-like rogue ninja from a classic ninja anime. Cut off at the waist on a round finned plinth, he leans forward over his raised left fist, which holds a kunai point-down under his chin, and his long tongue runs out of a wide grin and loops around the blade. His head is bowed, with narrowed eyes and deep lines down his cheeks, and his long straight hair is parted in the middle, falling past his face to the chest in front and down to the waist at the back. He wears a loose short-sleeved shirt with a broad rolled collar and a sculpted basket-weave texture over a fitted long sleeve with a twill texture. A thick twisted rope belt wraps his waist, is tied off behind one hip, and swings out in a large loop with frayed ends. The right arm stops at the shoulder in a flat bust cut. The studio's renders show the sculpt unpainted in gray.

What's in the kit

  • 11 resin pieces in total.
  • Bust, 10 pieces: the head, two hair sections, the torso, the left forearm, the left fist, a shirt section, two sections of the rope belt and the kunai.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round finned plinth with its post.
  • Studio scale: 1:6 (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
  • Tallest single piece: the main hair section, 81.3 mm (3.20 in) in the sculptor's file. I don't list an assembled size.
  • Round base: 76.3 × 76.5 mm (3.00 × 3.01 in) across in the sculptor's file. The rope loop and the raised elbow stand out past the base.
  • Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The rope belt comes in two sections that wrap the waist and swing out in a large loop. Dry-fit both sections against the torso before gluing, and pin the loop.
  • The kunai, the tongue that wraps it and the fist that holds it meet in a small, busy spot under the chin. Fit the hand and kunai before the hair goes on.
  • The hair is in two sections with fine tapered tips that fall across the face and the blade.
  • The shirt's weave, the sleeve's twill and the rope strands are sculpted in; a thin wash brings them out.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
