IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 23 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

He crouches low on a cracked stone floor, his right arm thrust out at the viewer with the fingers curled into a claw and his left hand raised beside his chest with two fingers held up together, grinning wide with heavy dark rings around his green eyes and a red character marked on his forehead. He wears a dark gray short-sleeved tunic over mesh under-sleeves, dark trousers, black open-toed sandals, a pale woven shawl over one shoulder that hangs to his knees, and a brown leather harness with buckles and a hip holster. A large two-lobed gourd with cream bands rides on his back, tied on with a thick red strap. Around him the sand comes alive: a giant clawed hand of sand with dark blue claws rises at one side, and thick sand tendrils with small spurs loop up over his head and back down to the floor. The base is an oval plinth of dark craggy rock topped with cracked green stone slabs. What's in the kit

  • 23 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 11 pieces: two heads (the cracked sand-armor face and the clean face, both in the box), body and legs, two arms, two feet in sandals, the gourd and the shawl in three pieces.
  • Base, 12 pieces: the rock plinth with its stone-slab top in two halves, the sand tendrils in seven sections, and the giant sand hand in three pieces (the hand and two fingers).
  • Studio size: 316 mm (12.44 in) tall, 345 mm (13.58 in) wide and 249 mm (9.80 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' notes for this kit).
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The sand hand and the tendril loops are large, heavy parts that hang out from the base and arch over the figure. Pin every sand join.
  • The tendrils pass in front of his legs and loop behind him, so set the figure on the base before the front sand sections close around him. Dry-fit the whole scene first.
  • The figure stands on two sandaled feet with the heavy gourd on his back. Pin the feet into the base and the gourd to the body. Both heads are in the box; pin the head without glue if you want to swap faces.
  • The spread fingers, the raised two-finger sign, the hair spikes and the spurs on the sand are thin.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
