IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 5 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art bust of the hulking, soul-bound suit of armor from a classic adventure anime. There is no face and no skin, just the armor, cut at the chest and tipped forward on an angled stem so the helmet leans toward you. The helmet has a rounded dome with a raised crest fin, a riveted brow band, a pointed visor and slits at the mouth over a wide jaw plate. A knit cloth wrap fills the collar under the chin. The chest is two overlapping plates with round rivet bosses and a small slotted grille, and the big pauldrons each carry cone spikes along a curved lip. The whole shell has a lightly pitted, hammered finish, with a seam and rivets down the back. A long plume rises from the helmet crest, loops back over the helmet and falls down one side to a curled tip. The base is a round stepped plinth with four wedge-shaped bracket feet and a rectangular stem.

What's in the kit

  • 5 resin pieces in total.
  • Bust, 4 pieces: the armor shell with the spiked pauldrons, the helmet, the knit neck cloth and the long helmet plume.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round plinth with its angled stem.
  • Studio size: 1:6 scale, 164 mm (6.46 in) tall, 193 mm (7.60 in) wide and 162 mm (6.38 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
  • Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The plume is a long, thin ribbon that hangs out well past the armor from a small join at the crest. Pin that join, and clip the plume's supports slowly.
  • The bust tips forward on the stem, so the stem-to-armor join carries the weight. Pin it.
  • The helmet seats inside the collar and the neck cloth hides that join.
  • The armor shell and the plume are the two big parts; the spikes are part of the shell, not separate.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
