Anime Swordsman Resin Garage Kit – Split Two-Pattern Coat, Drawn Sword & Translucent Water Ring Base (Unpainted, 20 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 20 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art statue of the quiet, black-haired swordsman from a hugely popular anime about demon hunters. He stands square with his feet apart on a dark, rippled water floor, his right arm reaching forward with a drawn sword whose blade angles up past his head, and his left hand resting on the scabbard at his hip. His face is calm and unreadable. He wears a black high-collared uniform with gold buttons and a white belt, wide black trousers gathered below the knee, white leg wraps and sandals, and over it a coat split down the middle: one half plain deep red with a pebbled texture, the other a geometric pattern of green, yellow and orange hexagons. The sword has a black blade with a blue edge and a short inscription near the guard, a red hexagonal guard and a white wrapped handle. Around him a sheet of water capped with white foam curls up from the floor, low across the front and rising to his shoulders at the back, made to print in clear resin. The base is a round black plinth with gold relief waves around its side and a round medallion at the front bearing the character for water. The studio's renders also show two optional painted looks for the face: a cut cheek and a dark blue cheek mark.
What's in the kit
- 20 resin pieces in total.
- Figure, 10 pieces: head, separate hair piece, the torso in two halves (the upper body, and the lower part with the coat skirts), trousers, two arms, the left hand, and both feet with the lower legs.
- Sword, 1 piece: the drawn sword.
- Water, 6 pieces: the ring of water and foam in six sections, made for clear resin.
- Base, 3 pieces: the round base with the water floor, the front medallion and a plug.
- Studio size: the studio's scale sheet gives the assembled model as 247.7 × 403.3 × 335.9 mm (9.75 × 15.88 × 13.22 in), measured in the slicer as a single merged model. The sheet doesn't label which of these is the height, so I quote it as given.
- Round base: 194.6 × 194.5 mm (7.66 × 7.66 in) across in the sculptor's file.
- Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: advanced
- The water comes in six large, curved sections that close into one ring around him. Dry-fit the whole ring on the base before you glue anything, and pin it to the base; the sections are heavy and every seam shows through clear resin.
- Sand any support marks off the outer faces of the water before priming. Glazes and a gloss coat give it a wet look.
- The sword is long and thin and held only in the fist of the forward-reaching arm. Pin the arm at the shoulder and the blade into the hand.
- The base is a large, heavy part. The left hand and the medallion are small parts; fit them last.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
