IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 14 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art bust of the green-haired swordsman who fights with three swords, from a famous anime pirate series. It is the statue from the hips up on an oval pedestal: a sword in each hand held low and angled out to the sides, a third sword clenched crosswise in his teeth, and purple flame running the length of all three blades in thin, pointed tongues. His left eye is shut with a vertical scar through it, a black bandana covers his head and three drop earrings hang from one ear. He is bare-chested and heavily muscled, with a long stitched scar running diagonally across his chest. His dark kimono is pulled down to the waist and folded over the sash, its skirt flaring wide around the pedestal, with a long sleeve hanging and three scabbards tucked through the sash at his hip. The two hand swords are the same parts as on the full statue, so they reach just as far to each side. The studio shows the bust as an unpainted gray render. This listing is the bust, 14 pieces. The full figure on its flame-ring rock base is sold as a separate listing.

What's in the kit

  • 14 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 9 pieces: head, bandana, bare torso, two arms, the folded-down kimono top, the kimono skirt and two hanging sleeves.
  • Swords, 4 pieces: the three flaming swords and the scabbard set.
  • Base, 1 piece: the oval pedestal.
  • Bust pedestal: 124.9 × 119.3 mm (4.92 × 4.70 in) across in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled size for the bust, so I don't list one.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • I print the pedestal hollow, so fill the small drain hole before priming.
  • The two hand swords and their flames reach far out to each side and hang from the wrists. Pin both hands and both sword grips; the flame tongues and earrings are the thinnest parts.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
