IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 32 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the rubber-limbed young captain from a famous anime pirate series, in his white-haired awakened form, crouched low on a jagged rock in the half-second before he launches. His left hand is planted fingers-spread on a flat slab at the front, his right arm is thrown back and up behind him ending in a clenched fist, one leg is folded under him and the other bent forward onto a lower rock. His face is a wide toothy grin with ringed eyes and a stitched scar under one eye, under a mass of white cloud-like curls with spiral ends. He wears a white open coat with a woven texture, dark toggle fastenings and a flared collar over a bare, muscular chest, a pale sash at the waist, white knee-length trousers with thick fleece cuffs, and sandals. His hat flies off behind him on one of two big cloud swirls that wrap around his torso. The base is a mound of dark, fractured rock with spires behind him and lava glowing through the cracks below, ringed by nine angular lightning bolts that spike out to the sides and up past his fist, and four smoke ribbons curling round the foot of the rock.

What's in the kit

  • 32 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 12 pieces: head, torso, the open coat, hips and trousers, sash, two arms, two hands, two legs and the hat.
  • Cloud swirls, 2 pieces: the two big swirls that wrap around him and carry the hat.
  • Base, 18 pieces: the lava rock in five sections, nine lightning bolt pieces and four smoke ribbons.
  • Studio size: 1:6 scale, 364 mm (14.33 in) tall, 323 mm (12.72 in) wide and 244 mm (9.61 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
  • Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The lava rock comes in five big sections and everything else hangs off it. Build and glue the rock first.
  • Nine lightning bolts and four smoke ribbons fit around the rock. Dry-fit each one against the photos before gluing. A glaze over the bolts and ribbons gives them a glow.
  • His weight sits on the planted hand and the folded legs. Pin the hand and both feet into the rock.
  • The two cloud swirls wrap the torso and carry the hat, with thin trailing ends. Pin them where they touch the figure.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
