IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 18 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the dark-haired firefighter from a popular anime about a special fire brigade. She stands at ease on a plain round base with her boots a shoulder width apart. Her right hand is raised to grip the long handle of an axe that rests across the back of her shoulders, with the axe head hanging out past her left shoulder, and her left arm hangs loose at her side. She looks straight at the viewer with a small closed-mouth smile. Her dark hair is cut in straight bangs, with long lengths falling behind her shoulders. She wears a tall pointed witch-style firefighter helmet with a wide floppy brim, a row of studs around the band, a pale ribbon at the back and a raised gold badge on the front; a fitted black tank top; baggy grey-green turnout trousers with a belt panel, a small hip pouch, square riveted flaps over the knees and blue-and-white reflective bands at the cuffs; lavender suspenders hanging in loops at her hips; and black ankle boots.

What's in the kit

  • 18 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 9 pieces: head, fringe, long back hair, torso in the tank top, the raised arm holding the axe handle, the hanging arm, the trousers and two boots.
  • Gear, 8 pieces: the helmet, its front badge, the axe head, two hanging suspender loops, two small pouches and a short strap tab.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round disc.
  • Tallest single piece: the trousers, 93.2 mm (3.67 in) in the sculptor's file. The finished figure stands taller once the torso, head and helmet are on. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height, so I don't list one.
  • Round base: 100.1 × 100.2 mm (3.94 × 3.94 in) across in the sculptor's file.
  • Scale: about 1:10 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:10 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The axe handle is sculpted into the raised arm, and it crosses behind her neck with the separate axe head hanging out past her shoulder. Pin the arm at the shoulder and fit the axe head after the arm is set.
  • The helmet is a thin shell with a wide brim that sits on the head on a small contact ring. Dry-fit it and mark the front before gluing, then add the badge.
  • The two suspender loops are thin curved straps that glue to the belt at one end and the thigh at the other. They are easy to knock off, so fit them last.
  • Both arms join on bare skin at the shoulders, so plan to fill and blend those seams.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
