IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 23 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the kindly, tea-loving retired general from a much-loved animated fantasy series, shown redirecting a bolt of lightning. He crouches low and wide on a slab of broken rock with his weight forward. One arm is thrown up and back with two fingers out and a small jag of lightning at the fingertips, and the other sweeps low across his body as the main stream of lightning pours from that hand, splitting into branches that curl around his legs and dive into the rock. He is bald on top, with a gray topknot, long gray hair streaming back, a full beard and mustache, heavy brows and a calm half-smile. He wears a dark green outer robe with huge flared sleeves edged in cream trim and a round emblem on one sleeve, a lighter green tunic, a cream under-robe with a ruffled hem, a gray-teal sash with two hanging straps and a gold buckle plate, cream wrapped trousers and brown boots with gold toe caps. The base is a gray cracked-rock plateau with loose rubble, ringed on both sides by pale curling wisps of cloud.

This listing is the full 1:10 scale statue, 173 mm tall on the studio's scale sheet. The miniature of the whole scene and the bust are sold as separate listings.

What's in the kit

  • 23 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 14 pieces: head, topknot and hair, torso, two robe sleeves, two forearms, two hands (the lower one with the root of the lightning stream), the skirt and hem, two legs with boots and the two hanging sash straps.
  • Base, 3 pieces: the rock plateau and two cloud wisps.
  • Lightning, 6 pieces: the fingertip jag and five branching arcs.
  • 1:10 scale: 173 mm (6.81 in) tall, 164 mm (6.46 in) wide and 172 mm (6.77 in) long (from the studio's scale sheet).
  • Scale: 1:10 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • Build the base first: the rock plateau and the two cloud wisps, then the figure onto the rock by its boots.
  • The six lightning pieces are thin, branching shapes that bridge from the rock to the figure. Fit them last, after the figure is glued, and pin the tall ones.
  • The two flared robe sleeves are large open cups that hang off the shoulders. Pin them at the shoulder joins.
  • Small parts: the two sash straps, the fingertip lightning and the fingers of the raised hand. Use tweezers.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
