Cartoon Sock-Hat Kid Resin Garage Kit – Striped Black Sock Hat, Orange Shirt & Laced Fingers on a Round Plinth (Unpainted, 5 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 5 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art figure of the clever, tidy kid from a famous late-1990s cartoon about three neighborhood friends. He stands on a round plinth with his head tipped back and to one side, grinning up from under a black sock hat pulled low over his big oval eyes, with his fingers laced together at his chest. The hat is soft and lumpy, with two white zigzag stripes on one side and a long tail that flops out behind him, and three thin strands of hair hang from under it. He has round ears with a small x in each, a round nose and a long thin neck. He wears an oversized orange shirt with a tall rolled collar and wide bell sleeves that hangs to mid-thigh, baggy purple shorts, red socks pulled all the way up, and rounded blue shoes with yellow soles. The base is a plain round two-tier plinth.
What's in the kit
- 5 resin pieces in total.
- Figure, 4 pieces: the head with the sock hat, the shirt, the arms with the laced hands, and the shorts with both legs and shoes.
- Base, 1 piece: the round two-tier plinth.
- Studio size: 212 mm (8.35 in) tall, 118 mm (4.65 in) wide and 88 mm (3.46 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
- Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: beginner
- The head is the biggest and heaviest part and sits on a long, thin neck. Pin the head to the body.
- The two thin legs carry the whole figure. Pin the shoes to the plinth.
- The laced fingers and the three hanging hair strands are thin. Remove supports from them slowly.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
