Cartoon Toon Lute Player Resin Garage Kit – Blond Bearded Adventurer, Red Billowing Shirt & Round Base (Unpainted, 10 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 10 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art statue, in a toon style, of the cheerful blond con man from a classic animated adventure film about two swindlers and a lost city of gold. He stands with his weight on one leg and the other foot set forward and turned out, playing a small round-backed lute held across his chest, one hand spread over the strings and the other curled around the neck. His head tips toward his shoulder and he grins sideways at the viewer. He has straight, shoulder-length blond hair with a side parting, thick arched auburn brows, green eyes and a trimmed ginger beard and moustache. He wears a loose red shirt with a wide open V-neck, a folded-back collar and full billowing sleeves gathered into rolled cuffs, tucked in at a dark brown belt with a squared silver buckle, and loose orange-tan trousers gathered into puffed bands below the knee, with bare ankles and plain brown slip-on shoes. The lute is light brown wood with a dark sound hole, four strings and brass tuning pegs. He stands on a plain round black base with a bevelled edge.
What's in the kit
- 10 resin pieces in total.
- Figure, 8 pieces: head and upper body in a single piece, legs, two sleeves, two hands and two lower legs with the shoes.
- Lute, 1 piece.
- Base, 1 piece: the round black base.
- Studio size: 208 mm (8.19 in) tall, 87 mm (3.43 in) wide and 104 mm (4.09 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
- Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- He holds the lute with both hands at once. Dry-fit the hands, sleeves and lute together before gluing any of them.
- The sleeves have keyed square joins at the shoulders and cuffs, so they only fit one way. The shoulder seams run across smooth shirt fabric and may need a little filler.
- The figure stands on two thin bare shins. Pin the shoes into the base.
- The lute strings are fine raised lines and the fingers are separated and thin.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
