IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 14 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the helmeted, caped supervillain with power over metal from American superhero comics, in his classic red and purple costume. He stands with his feet planted on a toppled giant robot head, legs apart, his right hand up at his shoulder gripping the edge of his cape and his left arm straight down in a clenched fist. He glares out from under a tall rounded red helmet with two crest prongs rising from the brow, jagged purple trim around the eye opening and long cheek guards, with short gray hair showing at the back. His red bodysuit is sculpted tight to the muscle, with a studded purple collar yoke, a wide purple belt and trunks, long purple gloves with striped cuffs and tall banded purple boots. The long, heavy purple cape falls behind him in S-curves and ends in two curled tails. Under him the robot head lies on its side in a crater of broken rock: a purple dome with a segmented band over the top at one end, and a gray metal face at the other with one red eye, an open panel of colored rings, a ribbed hose, cables and pipes, with metal debris on the rim.

What's in the kit

  • 14 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 10 pieces: the head, the helmet, the torso with the collar, the belt and trunks, two forearms with gloved hands, two legs and two boots.
  • Cape, 1 piece.
  • Base, 3 pieces: the fallen robot head, and the rock crater in two halves.
  • Tallest single piece: the cape, 97.9 mm (3.85 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Rock crater base: 166.0 × 163.0 mm (6.54 × 6.42 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The figure and cape stand on two legs that each join twice, at the waist and at the boot, and then on a rounded robot head. Pin both legs into the boots and both boots into the base.
  • The cape is a large hanging piece on his back. Pin it at the shoulders and check the seam where it meets the torso.
  • The robot head sits down into the crater, so dry-fit it before gluing. The crater comes in two halves with a seam through the rocks.
  • The helmet crest points, the hair spikes at the back and the fingers of the raised hand are thin.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
