Comic Book Stage Magician Resin Garage Kit – Tuxedo Tailcoat, Top Hat with Tentacles & Pedestal Table (Unpainted, 11 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 11 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art statue of the stage-magician heroine from a long-running superhero comic universe. She stands in black high heels on a round plinth, weight on one leg and the other knee bent in, leaning toward a small pedestal table with one white-gloved hand raised beside her cheek in a stage flourish and the other resting on her thigh. She has long, very dark purple-black hair swept back past one shoulder, light blue eyes and a small closed smile. She wears a magician's outfit: an open black tailcoat with the tails sweeping out behind her, a fitted white wing-collar shirt with sculpted buttons, a bow tie, a black corset-cut waistcoat with a column of small buttons, a black high-cut leotard and white wrist-length gloves. Beside her, a top hat sits brim-up on a pedestal table with a two-disc top, a ringed column and four small feet, and ridged tentacles lined with suckers climb out of the hat in a wide loop.
What's in the kit
- 11 resin pieces in total.
- Figure, 7 pieces: head with the hair, upper body in the shirt, waistcoat and leotard, two gloved arms, two legs with high heels, and the coat tails.
- Scene, 4 pieces: the round plinth, the pedestal table, the top hat and the tentacles.
- Tallest single piece: a leg, 210.4 mm (8.28 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height, so I don't list one.
- Plinth: 139.7 × 172.6 mm (5.50 × 6.80 in) across in the sculptor's file.
- Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: advanced
- The whole figure stands on two high heels. Pin both heels into the plinth.
- The tentacles reach out past the edge of the base and sit in a hat on a slender table column with four small feet. Pin the table feet into the plinth and the tentacles into the hat.
- The coat tails are a thin piece, and the spread glove fingers on the raised hand and the tentacle tips are fine details.
- The plinth is a large piece with a broad flat underside, and the head carries the full mass of hair. I print both hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
