IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 9 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

What's in the kit

  • 9 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 8 pieces: the head with the hair and headband, the torso in the jacket, the belt, the hips, two boots and two forearms with gloved fists.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round two-step plinth.
  • Studio size: 243 mm (9.57 in) tall, 97 mm (3.82 in) wide and 97 mm (3.82 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).
  • Scale: 1:6 (from the studio). Scale isn't standardized, so figures of the same scale from different creators may not match exactly.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The whole figure stands on the two boots. Pin both boots into the base and up into the hips.
  • The belt is a separate ring that slides on at the hips. Fit it before the torso goes on.
  • The forearms are small parts with the gloved fists. Pin the raised one at the elbow.
  • The zipper pull, the lapel snaps and the hanging jacket straps are thin. The leather grain and the suit's knit are sculpted in, so a wash and drybrush do most of the texture work.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
