Chibi Comedy Knight and King Resin Garage Kit – Armless Helmed Knight, Seated Crowned King, Two Speech Bubbles & Grass Base (Unpainted, 9 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 9 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art chibi scene from a classic British comedy film about knights on a quest: the famous duel that ends with one knight refusing to give up. On the right, a knight in a black tunic and a flat-topped black bucket helm hops on one leg with the other kicked up behind him. Both of his sleeves end in bone stumps, and two round yellow eyes glare out of the helm's slot above a grid of breathing holes, with a red boar's head on his chest and blood splashed down the helm and hem. On the left, the king sits in the grass with his legs out in front of him and one hand raised, looking up at the knight with his brows down and mouth open. He wears a gold studded crown over a gray mail hood, an orange-red beard and moustache, a cream tabard with a gold sun on the chest, mail sleeves, gold cuffs and brown boots. A sword with a bloodied tip and the knight's severed arm lie on the grass between them. Two speech bubbles rise over their heads with the scene's lines sculpted in raised lettering. The base is a round slab of bright grass with a textured earth rim, bushes with orange berries, a large leaf, pebbles, small flowers and pools of blood.
What's in the kit
- 9 resin pieces in total.
- Knight, 2 pieces: the helm, and the body with both legs and sleeve stumps.
- King, 2 pieces: the head with the crown, mail hood and beard, and the seated body.
- Speech bubbles, 2 pieces: one over each figure, with raised lettering on the front.
- Base, 1 piece: the round grass base with bushes and blood pools.
- Accessories, 2 pieces: the sword and the severed arm.
- Studio size: 85 mm (3.35 in) tall, 67 mm (2.64 in) wide and 84 mm (3.31 in) long (from the studio's scale sheet).
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- Each speech bubble hangs off a thin curved tail that meets the top of a head, a small contact point holding a flat disc out in the air. Use a slow glue and hold it in place, or pin it.
- The lettering is raised on the flat face of each bubble. A white base coat and a careful edge pass in the letter color picks it out; a wash will pool between the letters.
- The sword and the severed arm are small loose pieces; the blood pools on the base show where they go.
- The base has a broad flat underside. I print it hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
