IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 15 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

An original chibi scene, the studio's own design. A round, cream-colored little creature in a wide mushroom cap stands at the edge of a pond, holding a lit lantern low in one hand and raising the other toward its friend. The cap is rust red with raised pale spots and a scalloped rim over a fringe of moss, and the creature wears a tan shawl tied in a bow at the chest. On its back is a traveler's load: a canvas pack with buckled straps, a rolled bedroll and a two-pocket leather saddle bag at each side. Beside it, a smiling frog in a hooded cloak sits on a cut log, eyes closed and mouth wide open, holding a fishing rod whose line drops to a red float in the water. The base is a grassy mound with flowering bushes, a tall standing stone, a ring of cut stone blocks around a dark pond with lily pads and a lotus bud, a stack of chained crates and a padlocked trunk on a pallet, and a branch pole flying a tattered flag.

What's in the kit

  • 15 resin pieces in total.
  • Traveler, 4 pieces: the head with its moss fringe, the body with the shawl and the raised hand, the arm holding the lantern, and the mushroom cap.
  • Pack, 3 pieces: the canvas pack with its straps and bedroll, and the two saddle bags.
  • Frog, 3 pieces: the head, the seated body in its cloak, and the fishing rod with its line and float as a single piece.
  • Base, 5 pieces: the grass-and-pond base, the log, the crate-and-trunk stack, the flag pole and the flag.
  • Studio size: 80 mm (3.15 in) tall, 76 × 95 mm (2.99 × 3.74 in) footprint (from the studio's scale sheet).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The fishing rod, line and float are one thin piece that has to sit in both of the frog's hands with the float on its ripple in the pond. Fit it last and hold it until the glue grabs.
  • The two saddle bags, the flag and the flag pole have no pegs. Dry-fit the bags against the pack, then glue and hold each one.
  • The cap, the head, the frog's body and the crate stack key in with square pegs. The cap's seam hides in the moss.
  • Thin parts: the lantern cage, the fishing rod and the frayed edge of the flag.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
