IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 7 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the little blue crocodile starter creature from a world-famous monster-collecting video game series. He leaps off the bottom of a curling wave on one foot, the other leg kicked forward, one arm punched straight up holding a red and white ball and the other thrown back, his jaws open as wide as they go in a happy shout, showing two long fangs, a row of small teeth and a big red tongue. He has light blue skin, a yellow chevron belly plate, a red eye under a heavy brow and three fins down his back and tail. The wave is the scene: a single crescent of water that rises from a flat pool, arcs up one side and breaks over his head, edged with foam all along the curl, with a pink lotus and two lily pads on the pool. Two small companions share the base: an orange crab with its claws raised on a grassy rock at the front, and a round orange fish with yellow fins and whiskers resting on a foam splash on the wave. Rock pieces with grass and spiky leaves fill out the ground.

What's in the kit

  • 7 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 1 piece: the crocodile with the ball in his raised hand.
  • Companions, 2 pieces: the crab and the fish.
  • Base, 4 pieces: the wave with its pool, lotus and lily pads, and three rock-and-grass pieces.
  • Studio size: 70 mm (2.76 in) tall, 49 mm (1.93 in) wide and 59 mm (2.32 in) long (from the studio's scale sheet).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The figure joins the wave at a single foot, so that one joint carries him. Glue it carefully and let it set before handling.
  • The crab and the fish are fingernail-sized. Leave them on their supports until after washing and curing, and fit them with tweezers.
  • The foam crests along the top of the wave, the claw tips, the whiskers and the leaf tips are thin.
  • The wave is the big paint job: flat blue with white foam edges is quick, a blended dark-to-pale gradient takes longer.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
