IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 25 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi pair from a classic robot-battling game and anime: a boy and his yellow battle robot side by side in matching fighting stances. The boy stands in a wide, low stance with his left fist raised so the watch on his wrist faces out and his right fist clenched low, grinning. He has dark navy spiked hair with a short ponytail, big blue eyes, a red short-sleeved shirt with a high collar, two yellow buttons and a white stripe down the front, blue shorts, white socks, cream ankle guards and red sneakers. The robot crouches a half step ahead in yellow faceted armor over gray mechanics, with a black visor and two leaf-shaped green eyes, two dark cannons on top of his head, a twin-barrel gun on his raised forearm and a long barrel on the lowered arm, a shield-shaped waist plate and box-shaped shins. They stand on a faceted plinth with a black lower band, a yellow top rim and a raised front panel carrying a small hexagonal winged-insect emblem, with a cracked gray stone tile floor and chrome tube railings along the back and sides. A larger gold hexagon medal with the same emblem comes on its own small stand.

What's in the kit

  • 25 resin pieces in total.
  • Boy figure, 7 pieces: the head with the face, two more hair pieces, the shirt torso, the legs in shorts and sneakers, and two arms (one with the wristwatch).
  • Robot figure, 7 pieces: the helmet, the twin head cannons, the torso, the waist plate, the legs, and two arms with their gun barrels.
  • Base, 9 pieces: the plinth in two parts, the stone tile floor in two parts, four railing sections and the small front emblem.
  • Medal display, 2 pieces: the large hexagon medal and its stand.
  • Tallest single piece: the boy's head, 50.7 mm (2.00 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Plinth: 122.6 × 130.8 mm (4.83 × 5.15 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same plinth.
  • Medal: 48.0 mm (1.89 in) tall in the sculptor's file.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • Two figures and a seven-part base before the medal: line up the floor halves inside the plinth rim, then set the four railings square on the rim.
  • The boy's head is a large part on a small neck join. Pin it. I print it hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • The robot's head cannons and gun barrels are thin-walled tubes, the railings are thin chrome tubes on small feet, and the waist plate and front emblem are tiny.
  • The plinth and floor each come in two parts, so there are seams across the tile floor and the rim to fill.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
