IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 17 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the hooded, orange-haired sorceress from a famous fantasy adventure game series. She stands on the balls of her feet on broken rock, one hand raised beside her head with the fingers spread and the other held out low, palm up. A tall pointed hood frames a pale blue-gray face, a bone-colored crown with two wing-shaped points and a small red gem, and a thick orange lock gathered in a clasp. The dark woven cloak flares out on both sides to show a teal lining patterned with circles and spirals, and a large cream pattern runs down its back. Under it she wears a fitted dark top, long sleeves with teal lines, a segmented stone-colored belt and long skirt panels with gear-spiral emblems and red stripes, and a glowing emblem and key-pattern band mark her bare thigh. The base is a round slate plinth with two glowing rims, topped with mossy rock split by glowing teal cracks, a ring of dark shards and two leaning stone slabs.

What's in the kit

  • 17 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 9 pieces: head, three hair pieces, torso, two arms and two legs.
  • Cloak and skirt, 5 pieces: the hooded cloak in two halves and three skirt panels.
  • Base, 3 pieces: the round plinth and the rock top in two sections.
  • Tallest single piece: one half of the hooded cloak, 183.9 mm (7.24 in) in the sculptor's file. The finished figure stands taller once the legs, torso and base are stacked. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height, so I don't list one.
  • Base: the round plinth is 114.2 mm (4.50 in) across in the sculptor's file. One leaning slab on the rock top reaches past the plinth's edge.
  • Scale: about 1:6 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:6 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • She stands on the balls of both feet, a small contact patch for a tall figure. Pin both feet into the rock top and both legs into the torso, and dry-fit the legs first, because their angle sets where the feet land.
  • The cloak comes in two large, thin halves and the skirt in three panels, all hanging free of the body. Pin the cloak at the shoulders, and fill the cloak seam well, since the back of the cloak carries a large pattern.
  • The rock top comes in two sections that have to meet cleanly, because the moss and glowing cracks run across the join.
  • The spread fingers, crown points, hood tip, hair strands and rock shards are thin and delicate.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
