IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 3 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

He stands straight on a round base with one arm raised in a thumbs up toward the viewer and the other fist on his hip, his head tilted a little, one eye shut in a wink above a wide, toothy grin. He has a swept yellow quiff with a pointed curl at the crown, short sideburns, thick black eyebrows and big ears. He wears a blue jumpsuit with a yellow collar, a yellow stripe down the front, a yellow belt band and a raised two-digit number on the chest and across the back, with dark boots. The base is a low round black disc with a gear shape in relief on top.

What's in the kit

  • 3 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 2 pieces: the head with the hair, and the body with both arms, the thumbs-up hand and the boots.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round black gear base.
  • Studio size: 112 mm (4.41 in) tall, 55 mm (2.17 in) wide and 72 mm (2.83 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' notes file).
  • Scale: about 1:10 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:10 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: beginner

  • Three chunky parts: the head goes onto the body at the collar and the body onto the base at the boots. At this size no pinning is needed.
  • The neck join sits under the raised collar and the boot join on the black base, so the seams fall on color changes.
  • The collar, stripe, belt and numbers are raised shapes, so they paint with a careful brush rather than freehand lines.
  • The thumb is the thinnest part.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
