IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 18 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art statue of the black-haired armored heroine from a classic role-playing game, in her winged battle armor. She stands upright on a low pile of broken rock with her weight on both feet, a long, narrow sword held point-down in her armored right hand and her left hand raised to shoulder height, palm open and fingers spread. Two large wings spread wide and high behind her, each a thin membrane with a raised vein texture, joined to her back by a curved, ribbed strut with a round sun-like hub. Her black hair is cut in a chin-length bob at the front and falls long down her back, with two small horn-like points at the sides of her head and a circlet of red gems on her forehead. Her armor is a deep purple-black with a blue-violet sheen: a breastplate ridged down the center with a large red gem, winged shoulder guards with red veined panels, engraved hip armor with long fin-shaped plates at each side, a finned gauntlet on the sword arm, a black band and glove on the open hand, and segmented greaves and boots with red gems at the toes. A length of cloth hangs from the back of the belt. In the studio's painted design the wings are yellow-green shading to blue-green, edged in orange-red.

What's in the kit

  • 18 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 11 pieces: head, front hair with the two horn points, long back hair, torso with the shoulder guards, hips and legs, two arms, two boots and the two fin-shaped hip plates.
  • Wings, 4 pieces: the two wing membranes, each with its round hub, and the two curved struts that join them to her back.
  • Cloth, 1 piece: the cloth hanging behind the legs.
  • Sword, 1 piece: the long, narrow blade with its guard.
  • Base, 1 piece: the rock base.
  • Studio size: 233 mm (9.17 in) tall, 269 mm (10.59 in) wide across the wings and 145 mm (5.71 in) long (from the studio's scale sheet).
  • Scale: about 1:10 (estimated). The sculptor doesn't publish a scale, so this is my estimate of the closest standard scale based on the model's measurements. It may not look in scale next to other 1:10 figures, and scale can differ from one creator to another.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • Each wing is a large, thin membrane that hangs off a slender curved strut. Pin the wing to the strut and the strut to her back; glue alone won't hold the weight.
  • The sword hangs from one hand and its tip reaches down beside the base, so fit it late and handle the figure carefully afterwards.
  • The head, front hair and back hair are three separate parts around the face. Dry-fit them together before gluing.
  • Thin parts: the wing edges, the sword blade, the open hand's fingers, the horn points and the hip plates. Add the wings last so they don't get in the way of everything else.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
