IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 7 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the quiet younger sister from a hugely popular sword-fighting anime, caught running. She is planted on one foot on a plain round base with the other leg kicked up behind her, her long black hair streaming back to red-orange tips, and a short bamboo muzzle tied across her mouth with a red cord. A pink ribbon sits on one side of her head and her large pink eyes look straight ahead. She wears a pink kimono printed with a six-pointed star lattice, crossed over a pale under-collar and flaring out into a wide skirt with a rolled white lining, a red-and-white checkered sash with a green band and an orange tied cord, dark leg wraps, white split-toe socks and sandals with red thongs. A loose black jacket with very wide sleeves flies out to both sides of her and streams behind her like a pair of wings.

What's in the kit

  • 7 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 6 pieces: the head with the hair, ribbon and bamboo muzzle, the upper body, the flared kimono skirt, the black jacket with both sleeves, and two legs.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round plinth.
  • Studio size: 150 mm (5.91 in) tall, 148 mm (5.83 in) wide and 130 mm (5.12 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' printing and scale guide).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • She stands on one leg. Pin the planted foot into the base and the leg up into the skirt before anything else goes on.
  • The black jacket is a wide, thin shell with both sleeves held out over the base. Clip its supports slowly around the sleeve edges and pin it at the shoulders.
  • The head is the heaviest piece and goes on last. Pin it.
  • The star lattice on the kimono and the checkered sash are the paint work: plan on a fine wash or brush for the lattice lines and masking for the checks.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
