Chibi Blue-Skinned Swordsman Resin Garage Kit – Bandaged Greatsword, Water Shark & Splash Rock Base (Unpainted, 16 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 16 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
A fan-art chibi of the shark-like, blue-skinned swordsman from a long-running ninja anime, standing square on a purple rock outcrop with a grin full of pointed teeth. His raised right hand grips the braided hilt of a huge bandage-wrapped sword that rests across his back, its wrapped end reaching down past his left hip, with a small skull on the pommel. His left arm hangs loose at his side, with a ring on one finger. Beside him on his left, a shark made of water surges up out of the splashes with its jaws wide open. His face is pale blue-gray with three gill marks under each eye, small round eyes and a heavy brow, and a deep blue cloth wrap covers his head with a scratched metal plate across the forehead and a crown of dark blue spikes bursting from the top. He wears a high-collared black cloak with red piping and red cloud emblems, a mustard strap with a square buckle across his chest, a wrapped arm guard, dark trousers, leg wraps and open-toed sandals. The base is a jagged purple rock outcrop ringed with translucent water splashes.
What's in the kit
- 16 resin pieces in total.
- Figure, 8 pieces: the face, the hair and head wrap, the cloak torso, the legs, two arms and two hands (the raised hand holds the sword's braided hilt).
- Sword, 1 piece: the bandage-wrapped blade.
- Water shark, 1 piece.
- Base, 6 pieces: the rock outcrop in two halves and four water splash sections.
- Tallest single piece: the water shark, 84.8 mm (3.34 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
- Rock base: two halves, 92.4 × 48.7 mm (3.64 × 1.92 in) and 101.8 × 48.4 mm (4.01 × 1.91 in) across, from the sculptor's files.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: advanced
- The water shark is a large piece that leans out from the base on his left side. Pin it. I print it hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
- The base is six pieces to line up: two rock halves and four water splashes. Seams in the water show through if it is cast or painted translucent.
- The hair and head wrap make a heavy head on a small body. Pin the head to the collar.
- The hair spikes, the shark's teeth and fin, and the thin splash edges are fragile.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
