IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 15 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the pale, green-eyed swordsman from a sword-and-spirits anime, standing still with his right arm held straight out at shoulder height and his left hand pushed into the side slit of his trousers. A broken bone-white helmet with a single curved horn sits over the left side of his black hair and runs down the back of his head in stacked plates. Green tear marks run down from his large slit-pupil eyes, and his expression is flat and bored. He wears a long white coat open down to the sash, with a tall black-lined collar, ragged front edges and split tails swept out behind him, a gray sash, wide pleated white trousers and black shoes. A katana with a blue diamond-wrapped hilt and gold guard sits at his left hip. Behind his shoulders hangs a long portal panel: a black void with blocky, stepped edges in a pale frame. He stands in a mound of gritty sand split by two curved walls of rock and green energy spikes, with bone horns and a small horned skull at the front.

What's in the kit

  • 15 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 10 pieces: the head, the hair with the bone helmet, the torso with the open coat and tails, the pleated trousers, two arms, two hands and two feet.
  • Accessories, 3 pieces: the katana in two parts (hilt and scabbard) and the portal panel.
  • Base, 2 pieces: the sand base with its green energy walls, bone horns and skull, in two halves.
  • Tallest single piece: the torso with the coat, 89.8 mm (3.54 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Sand base: 103.6 × 96.3 mm (4.08 × 3.79 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.
  • The portal panel is 136.0 mm (5.35 in) wide in the sculptor's file.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The green energy spikes, the helmet horn and the ragged coat tails all taper to sharp points. Support every tip.
  • The portal is a long flat panel that hangs behind the shoulders. Pin it to the figure.
  • The outstretched arm carries its hand at the end of a long reach; pin it at the shoulder. The hands and the two sword parts are tiny.
  • The base comes in two halves, with one seam through the sand and energy walls to fill and re-texture.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
