IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 19 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the plant-like spy from a long-running ninja anime, standing still and watchful on a tangle of arched roots. Two huge sage-green leaves rise from his collar and close around his head like a flytrap, with rows of big conical teeth crossing in front of his face and two hooked points at the top. Inside, his face is split straight down the middle, black on one side and pale gray-white on the other, with solid amber eyes, and his short hair is a fan of bright green leaf blades. His right hand, black, is raised like a claw; his left, white, hangs open at his side. He wears a long black cloak with a tall stiff collar, red piping on every edge and red cloud emblems outlined in white, loose dark trousers, light gray shin wraps and open-toed sandals. The base is an oval of brown earth with a broken-rock edge, mossy stones, thick roots and a splintered trunk rising behind him, with two kunai stuck in the roots and two throwing stars in the trunk.

What's in the kit

  • 19 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 11 pieces: the two-leaf flytrap head piece, the leaf-blade hair, the head, the cloak torso, the trousers, two arms, two hands and two lower legs with sandals.
  • Accessories, 4 pieces: two kunai and two throwing stars.
  • Base, 4 pieces: the earth plinth in two halves, the rising trunk and the arched roots.
  • Tallest single piece: the flytrap leaves around the head, 125.6 mm (4.94 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Root and tree base: 119.7 × 97.5 mm (4.71 × 3.84 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The leaf head piece is a large thick shell with a cupped cavity for the head. I print it hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • The hair is a heavy block with fine blade tips. I print it hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming. The leaves, hair and head make up most of the figure's weight, so pin the head into the collar and both feet into the roots.
  • Dry-fit the head, hair and leaves together before gluing; you can't reach inside the leaves afterward.
  • The kunai and throwing stars are tiny with thin points. Handle them gently.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
