IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 26 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the gold-armored scorpion warrior from a classic anime about armored warriors. He stands square on a stone slab with his right arm raised, index finger pointing up inside a translucent red eight-point star, with jagged red lightning running down his forearm, across his face and over the crest of his helmet. His left fist is clenched at his hip. He wears full gold armor: a helmet with a V-shaped brow plate, a raised crest, two long sweeping horns and crescent guards under the eyes; a ridged breastplate with a swirl medallion; rounded shoulder guards with scroll engraving and short horn spikes; bracers, a skirt of pointed plates, shield-shaped knee plates and segmented greaves. A tail of gold beads runs from the top of the helmet around his head and over one shoulder to a curved stinger at hip level. Long deep-blue hair falls to the middle of his back, and a cape, white outside with a royal-blue lining, billows out to one side. The base is a stepped slab of cracked stone with a standing broken fluted column, a fallen column on rubble, dust puffs at his boots and three small scorpions.

What's in the kit

  • 26 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 16 pieces: the face, front hair, back hair, the helmet with its bead tail, the eye guards, the armored torso, two shoulder guards, two upper arms, two forearms with hands, two upper legs and two leg armor pieces.
  • Cape and effect, 2 pieces: the cape and the red lightning star.
  • Base, 8 pieces: the stone slab, two columns, two dust puffs and three scorpions.
  • Tallest single piece: the helmet with its bead tail, 115.9 mm (4.56 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Stone base: 99.6 × 125.9 mm (3.92 × 4.96 in) across in the sculptor's file. The cape reaches past its edge on one side.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The red lightning star is a single very thin piece that touches the raised hand and the helmet crest at thin points. Fit it last.
  • The helmet horns, the bead tail and the shoulder spikes are thin, and the three scorpions are under 20 mm with thin legs.
  • The back hair, torso and cape are heavy parts on slim leg armor. Pin both legs into the base and the torso onto the legs. I print those heavy parts hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • The cape falls over the fallen column, so dry-fit the column and cape together before gluing either one.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
