IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 14 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the winged golden archer from a classic 1980s anime about armored warriors, caught mid-draw. He stands in a wide, braced stance, front knee bent and back leg straight, his right fist pulled back to his shoulder holding the arrow's nock and his left arm pushing a long gold bow out to the side, the barbed arrowhead reaching past it. Almost everything he wears is gold armor: a helmet with a tall blade-shaped crest, swept wing-shaped side guards and hooked cheek guards; upswept shoulder guards with scroll relief on a raised collar; a breastplate with a small shield-shaped emblem and a banded, wavy-edged abdomen; a waist plate with a pointed scroll emblem; engraved forearm guards over bare upper arms; layered thigh plates, round knee guards with a spiral relief, greaves, and heeled boots with a thin winglet rising off each heel. A crimson bodysuit shows at the thighs. Spiky brown hair falls over the helmet band, and his blue eyes cut sideways along the arrow. Two wings of long, flat feather blades sweep up and out behind his shoulders, with shorter feather sprays fanning out at hip level. He stands on a floor of cut stone blocks, two courses deep, with cracked and chipped edges and a few loose pebbles. Behind him is a broken stone wall between two fluted columns, with a smooth tablet carved with three lines of Greek lettering and a small gold arrow lodged in the stone beside it.

What's in the kit

  • 14 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 10 pieces: the head with face and hair, the helmet, the armored torso, the legs as a single piece, the drawing arm with the arrow, the bow arm with the bow, two shoulder guards and two wings.
  • Base, 4 pieces: the stone floor in two halves, the ruined wall with its columns and carved tablet, and the small arrow lodged in the wall.
  • Tallest single piece: the legs, 90.3 mm (3.56 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Stone floor: 135.2 × 112.0 mm (5.32 × 4.41 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same floor.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The bow tapers to fine points, and the arrow on the drawing arm is the thinnest long part in the kit. Both need careful support removal.
  • The arrow passes the bow hand, so the two arms have to line up in the air with nothing else holding them. Dry-fit both arms before gluing either.
  • The wings are wide, thin feather blades that hang off the back. Pin them. The helmet is a thin shell with a pointed crest, and the heel winglets are thin fins.
  • The stone floor comes in two halves, so there is a seam across the blocks to fill. The wall arrow is tiny and easy to lose.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
