IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design, plus the studio's photos of its own unpainted test prints. Your kit arrives as 7 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the grinning, winged death spirit from a famous dark supernatural anime. He stands hunched on a pile of rocks with one boot on the highest stone and the other leg reaching down to a lower ledge, his oversized head pushed out ahead of his chest. His right hand holds out a red apple in long clawed fingers and his left arm hangs down with the fingers spread. His head is crowned with dozens of blade-shaped hair spikes, and his pale face has huge round yellow eyes with red irises and a grin full of pointed teeth that runs almost ear to ear, with a heart-shaped padlock earring on one ear. He wears a fitted dark purple-gray outfit with a feathered collar, a ring of knobs around the neck, a studded belt wrapped in twisted rope with a skull buckle, a beaded skull chain, a small cross-marked case on his hip, a skirt panel with a torn hem, and soft pointed boots, with a silver cuff, bracelet and rings on his hands. Two ragged wings hang from his back past his knees. The base is a round black plinth with a rock pile, a half-buried cracked skull and three curved bone spikes.

What's in the kit

  • 7 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 4 pieces: the head with the full crown of hair spikes, the body with legs, collar and belt, the right arm holding the apple, and the left arm.
  • Wings, 2 pieces: left and right.
  • Base, 1 piece: the round plinth with the rock pile, the skull and the three bone spikes.
  • Studio size: 137 mm (5.39 in) tall, 75 mm (2.95 in) wide and 89 mm (3.50 in) deep (from Tanuki Figures' notes file).

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: intermediate

  • The head is about half the figure's height and leans forward past the chest on a single neck peg. Glue that joint well and pin it.
  • The boot pegs carry the whole figure. Let the body set in the base before the head goes on.
  • The arms and wings fit on square keyed pegs. Paint the belt, chest and collar before the arms and wings go on, since they block access.
  • Thin parts: the hair spike tips, the long clawed fingers on the hanging arm, the curled wing tips, the bone spikes and the torn skirt hem.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.

Shipping and returns

  • Free shipping to addresses in the 50 US states, Washington, DC, and military APO/FPO addresses.
  • International or US territory address? You can use a US package forwarding service. My responsibility ends when the package is delivered to the forwarder’s US address. Anything after that is between you and the forwarding service.
  • 30-day free returns. If the kit isn't for you, send it back within 30 days of delivery, unassembled and unsanded, and I'll send you a prepaid return label.
