Chibi Head Keychain Charm Resin Garage Kit – Choose a Design: Iron Mask in a Green Hood, Snake-Eyed Sorcerer or Blonde Grinner (Unpainted, 2 to 4 Pieces)
Printed to order. This listing shows as sold out until the next print run is ready. Tap Notify me and leave your email, and I'll let you know when it's in stock. No pre-orders and nothing to pay up front. How it works
IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.
The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as separate pieces (how many depends on the version you choose; see below) of plain, single-color resin. It is:
- Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
- Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
- Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
- Unpainted: all painting is up to you.
Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.
This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.
Chibi head charms to paint yourself, fan art of characters from anime and American comics. Each is a big chibi head with a small hanging loop at the crown, made to hang from a key ring or bag, and each comes in a few parts that glue together. Choose the design. The iron mask in a green hood is a riveted metal mask with heavy angled brow plates, a flat nose guard and a slotted mouth grille, set deep inside a smooth rounded hood with a rolled rim; the mask and the hood are separate pieces. The snake-eyed sorcerer has long black hair with a fringe across the face, thin tendrils hanging below the chin and a mass of hair sweeping out to one side, slit-pupil eyes and a wide grin with small pointed teeth and a long tongue hanging out and curling at the tip; the tongue is its own small piece. The blonde grinner has layered bangs with one lock sweeping between the eyes, pointed tufts flicking out at the sides, a thin loop of hair arcing up over the hanging loop, big eyes under angled brows and a clenched-teeth grin.
Hardware is not included. The key rings, jump rings and chains in the sculptor's renders are for display only and don't come with the kit.
What's in the kit
- Resin pieces in total, by design: 2 for the iron mask in a green hood, 4 for the snake-eyed sorcerer, 3 for the blonde grinner.
- Iron mask in a green hood, 2 pieces: the hood with its hanging loop, and the metal mask that sits inside it.
- Snake-eyed sorcerer, 4 pieces: the head and back hair with the hanging loop, the swept-out hair, the face, and the tongue.
- Blonde grinner, 3 pieces: the main hair mass, the back of the head, and the face.
- Not included: key ring, jump ring or chain. Add your own.
- Iron mask in a green hood: the hood piece, 46.3 × 48.6 × 48.3 mm (1.82 × 1.91 × 1.90 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file. The mask sits inside the hood.
- Snake-eyed sorcerer: largest piece (head and back hair), 68.8 × 44.4 × 65.1 mm (2.71 × 1.75 × 2.56 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file.
- Blonde grinner: largest piece (main hair mass), 54.8 × 42.9 × 35.2 mm (2.16 × 1.69 × 1.39 in) bounding box in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish sizes or a scale.
About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.
Skill level: intermediate
- Each charm glues together from 2 to 4 parts. A charm gets swung and knocked against keys, so use a gap-filling glue and let it cure fully before it goes on a ring.
- The sorcerer's tongue is a tiny, thin separate piece with a small contact point; paint it first and glue it in last. His hair tendrils and pointed locks are thin too.
- The blonde grinner's hair loop over the crown is a thin arc, and her side tufts end in points.
- The hanging loop carries the whole charm. Check that your jump ring fits through it before you buy hardware.
You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
