IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 14 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the winged, purple-armored warrior from a classic anime about armored champions, standing square on a stone slab held up by crouching gargoyles. One arm hangs at his side with a clenched fist, the other is held out palm up under a violet orb with lightning forking off it, and he grins. The armor is metallic purple with crimson accents: a high crimson collar, a crimson chest plate with a demon-face motif and a row of small fangs, pale lavender plates over the stomach, layered clawed pauldrons with crimson scrolls, ribbed indigo under-suit at the elbows and knees, mauve thighs with crimson flame stripes, and pointed, clawed boots. Two broad wings of four blade-shaped lilac lobes spread from his back, and a segmented tail with a barbed tip curls down beside one leg. Both heads are in the box, to swap as you like: a dark plum helmet with long crimson horns, a crest spike, a fang fringe across the brow and claws over the cheeks, and a bare head with a big mass of spiky blond hair and one heavy brow pulled down in a scowl. The base is a slab of rough paving stones on a rock pedestal, with three gargoyles crouched beneath it.

What's in the kit

  • 14 resin pieces in total.
  • Body, 8 pieces: the legs, the torso with both arms, two shoulder guards, two wings, the tail and the violet orb.
  • Horned helmet head, 3 pieces: the helmeted head with its face, and two small locks of hair that show below the helmet.
  • Bare head, 2 pieces: the face and the spiky blond hair.
  • Base, 1 piece: the gargoyle plinth.
  • Tallest single piece: the tail, 97.9 mm (3.85 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Gargoyle plinth: 91.4 × 73.7 mm (3.60 × 2.90 in) across in the sculptor's file. The wings reach well past it on both sides.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • Each wing is a thin, wide panel joined at the back behind a shoulder guard. Pin both wings and the tail.
  • The orb's lightning forks are the thinnest part of the kit; glue the orb into the open palm last.
  • The head is much heavier than the body below it, especially the bare head with its full hair. Pin the neck and pin both boots into the base. I print the heads hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming. Both heads fit the same neck, so dry-fit the one you want before gluing.
  • The helmet's horns, crest spike and the hair spikes are long points that need careful support removal.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
