IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 16 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the green-haired, three-sword fighter from a famous anime pirate crew, crouched in a low lunge with a sword clamped in his teeth and one in each hand. Both hand-held blades point out to one side, roughly parallel to the one in his mouth. He's bare-chested with chibi-sized muscle, with a green cloth wrap and a deep red sash at the waist, very dark green trousers tucked into tall boots, and three sheaths (white, black and red-brown) hanging from his hip. His hair is a crown of pointed green spikes, one eye is shut under a slanting scar, the other glares, and three long gold drops hang from one ear. The base is a broken slab of gray rock topped with red-brown earth plates, moss and splintered planks, and seven separate translucent-green effect pieces swirl around his feet: a big curved swoosh, flame-like flares and a small wisp. Both heads are in the box, so you can swap them as you like: the spiky-haired head in the render, and a head with a bandana tied over the hair (not shown in the sculptor's render).

What's in the kit

  • 16 resin pieces in total.
  • Figure, 2 pieces: the bare torso with both arms, and the legs with the waist wrap and sheaths.
  • Heads, 2 pieces: the head with the crown of green hair spikes (the one in the render) and a head with a bandana tied over the hair (the sculptor has no painted render of this one). Both have a hilt clamped in the teeth, and both are in the box.
  • Swords, 3 pieces: the three sword blades.
  • Effects, 7 pieces: the green energy effect pieces.
  • Base, 2 pieces: the broken stone base in two blocks.
  • Tallest single piece: the largest green effect, 70.4 mm (2.77 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Base: two stone blocks, 89.9 × 107.2 mm (3.54 × 4.22 in) and 74.5 × 69.7 mm (2.93 × 2.74 in) across in the sculptor's files.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The three blades are long and very thin and cantilever far out from small hilts; handle them gently and fit them last.
  • There is no parts guide for the seven effect pieces, so expect to place them by eye from the render. Two of them are tiny.
  • Each head is the heaviest part and sits on a small torso. Pin the neck. I print the heads hollow, so fill the small drain holes before priming.
  • The two base blocks meet in a seam across the earth plates and planks; the cracks help hide it.
  • Both heads come in the kit. Leave the neck joint unglued if you want to swap them later.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
