IMPORTANT: THIS IS AN UNPAINTED, UNASSEMBLED RAW RESIN KIT. IT IS NOT A FINISHED FIGURE.

The pictures are the sculptor's digital renders of the painted design. Your kit arrives as 21 separate pieces of plain, single-color resin. It is:

  • Unassembled: you glue the pieces together yourself.
  • Unprimed: it needs primer before paint.
  • Unsanded: seams and surfaces need sanding.
  • Unpainted: all painting is up to you.

Expect supports and support marks. Some parts may ship with supports still attached to make sure they do not get damaged during shipping. You may need to sand parts to fully remove supports or fill marks where supports attached. You will need to prime with an appropriate primer.

This kit is for people who want the full experience of finishing a 3D printed kit without owning a printer. It’s also a good way to find out whether the hobby is for you, and what finishing a printed model really takes, before you buy a printer of your own.

A fan-art chibi of the white-haired mercenary commander from a classic dark-fantasy manga, in his silver plate armor. He stands calm and upright on a grass-topped rock, his right hand holding a drawn sabre angled down past his hip and his left hand holding the empty scabbard at his side. The armor is polished steel: a collar of pointed, feather-like plates with two gold feather pins, a breastplate with a small gold winged emblem on a leather strap, a brown belt, layered hip plates, a tiered pauldron on each shoulder with a raised steel wing on the left one, banded vambraces, knee guards with fans of pointed plates and pointed sabatons, with leather straps around one leg. A long cape, white outside with a deep blue lining, hangs behind him down to the grass. The sabre has a gold swept hilt, and the scabbard is slate blue with gold fittings. A small red egg-shaped charm with a face sits on a ledge at the back of the rock. Both heads are in the box; swap them as you like: a bare head with long wavy white hair and bright blue eyes, and a polished steel helmet with a beak over the nose and an eye slit, with white hair flowing out the back.

What's in the kit

  • 21 resin pieces in total.
  • Body, 10 pieces: torso, waist, two legs, two arms, two pauldrons, the left hand with the scabbard and the right hand with the sabre.
  • Cape and base, 4 pieces: the cape, the rock base in two halves, and the small egg charm.
  • Bare head, 3 pieces: the face, the front hair and the long back hair.
  • Helmeted head, 4 pieces: the face, two helmet sections and the hair that flows out the back.
  • Tallest single piece: the cape, 90.8 mm (3.57 in) in the sculptor's file. The sculptor doesn't publish an assembled height or scale, so I don't list one.
  • Rock base: 95.6 × 102.1 mm (3.76 × 4.02 in) across, from the sculptor's single-piece file of the same base.

About the sizes: every measurement above comes from the sculptor's own files or the studio's published size information for the unprinted model. Your printed kit can differ slightly: resin shrinks a little as it cures, removing supports and sanding takes off some material, and the assembled height depends on how the parts are fitted. Treat the numbers as a close guide, not an exact guarantee.

Skill level: advanced

  • The bare head is three pieces and more than half the figure's resin, on a neck join. Pin it, and pin both boots into the base. Both heads come in the kit; to swap them later, leave the head unglued on its pin or fit a small magnet.
  • The sabre and scabbard come on the hand pieces; the blade, the hilt bars and the scabbard's flame-shaped flanges are thin.
  • The cape is a thin sheet whose hem rests on the grass. Dry-fit the figure, cape, head and winged pauldron together on the base before gluing any of them.
  • The rock base comes in two halves, with one seam through the rock and grass to fill and re-texture. On the helmeted head, a join may fall on smooth steel and need filling.

You'll need (not included): sandpaper or sanding sticks, flush cutters, CA glue or epoxy, primer, paints, and brass rod if you pin the joints.
